Processing made easy

Technical insulation made of FEF and PEF requires relatively little installation effort. The materials are characterised by their easy handling and clear processing procedure. The desired component in the building's technical equipment is completely insulated with just a few movements of the hand. Thanks to its high flexibility, the insulation can be used in entirely different areas.

Easy handling for reliable results

Long-term protection from condensation and energy losses can only be assured with professional installation of FEF and PEF foams. For this purpose, the individual components must be perfectly matched and professionally installed. Thanks to the easy handling, sources of errors can be safely eliminated.

Appropriately sized tubes made of polyethylene can slide easily onto straight pipelines. If the lines are bent or angled, a correct cut must be made. PEF tubes are available without longitudinal openings, or with appropriate slits for quicker installation. In order to permanently guarantee the functional reliability of the insulation, the seams must be sealed with a special adhesive, adhesive tape, or clips after application. Some providers also offer tubes with self-adhesive closing means.

Cuts made with a simple knife

Expensive special tools are not needed to cut the insulation. Only a commercially available knife is needed to open, shorten, or shape the insulation tubes. In the process, neither dust particles nor microfibres are released to the environment. The insulation also does not release any harmful substances. The CEFEP members are now preparing useful handling instructions for their products.

Flexibility assures handling advantages

The use of elastomer insulation is characterised by high flexibility. It considerably reduces the labour involved with installation in difficult-to-access equipment areas or technical installations with curves, angles, and branch connections. Since the material can be easily adapted to the shape of the components, fewer cuts are necessary. Yet the material is still easy to manage when cutting. The manufacturers have, in turn, incorporated special adhesives into their product ranges which are optimised for the products and provide a tight seal of seams. Insulation material is available in various sizes to accommodate large-format pipes or tanks. Specially shaped or slit insulating shells are used for certain components.
